Hi. In six months I'm graduating from junior high. I identify as transmasculine but everyone at my schools sees me as female. For graduation I'm guessing girls will wear dresses and boys will wear suits. Since I'm neither boy or girl I don't know what to wear. I'd hate to wear a dress, but I'd also feel embarrassed in a suit. Any suggestions as to what I could wear? Thanks.
AnonymousHey - Firstly, congrats on your upcoming graduation! I understand that it’s very difficult to decide upon formal clothing when you don’t have binary gender identity. Maybe you can try going for something somewhat androgynous. If you look up images of Rachel Maddow and Ellen Degeneres, they tend to wear androgynous formal wear for their TV shows. From what I can, they wear lots of vests, tailored pants, and blazers. I hope this is helpful. If anyone else out there has any suggestions, please feel free to write in.
